Overview

Adeney Milk Bar Cafe sits quietly on Adeney Avenue in Kew, offering a cozy refuge for locals and visitors alike. This cafe embodies the casual charm of a neighborhood spot with a menu that leans heavily on familiar, comforting classics—perfect for brunch or a relaxed coffee break. The space is warm and inviting, designed for lingering conversations or a peaceful moment alone with a book.

At the heart of the experience is their focus on approachable cafe fare with small twists. Highlights include their Croque Madame, a timeless French sandwich that arrives with expected warmth and richness. The Breakfast Salad offers a fresh alternative, balancing greens and bursts of flavor. For those seeking something smoother, the A380 Smoothie delivers a thick, satisfying blend that pairs well with their industry beans coffee roster.

Speaking of coffee, the cafe takes pride in using quality beans. Their cappuccino and soy lattes stand out as reliable choices, though some find the milk-forward preparation leans a little soft in flavor. For a touch of indulgence, the Industry Beans hot chocolate and the Adeney Affogato offer decadent takes that elevate the usual cafe routine.

The menu also caters to varied tastes and times of day—from the substantial Milk Bar Burger and Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich to lighter options like the Thai Chicken Salad and the Blat sandwich, a crowd favorite. These plates are generally well-sized and reflect good value within the Kew community.

Customer experiences at Adeney Milk Bar Cafe tend to orbit around its friendly atmosphere and attentive service. While some patrons admire the menu’s variety and portion sizes, others hope for more consistency in the seasoning and temperature of dishes. Despite these mixed reviews, the cafe remains a beloved stop for many, particularly those cycling through the area or locals seeking a reliable, welcoming corner to unwind.

In essence, Adeney Milk Bar Cafe offers a blend of comfort, casual style, and quality basics. It’s not a place chasing culinary innovation but one that roots itself in genuine hospitality and solid, honest food. On a bicycle ride we stopped here for a coffee and eats. The coffee, croissant, danish and chocolate brownie were all excellent. Later on we came back on our ride and ordered a kids burger and chips and a Rueben sandwich. We didn't have to wait long, and the food again was delicious. I declared that Adenahy Milkbar cafe is my favourite in Melbourne!

cosy cafe with friendly staff. The blat sandwich is great! The coffee is alright but not the best I’ve had.

Place looked busy so had high hopes but it was a little underwhelmed unfortunately. Wasnt much cohesion between the flavours and they came out lukewarm. Quantity is good though as well as the price point. Maybe what I ordered just wasn't my thing so worth checking out overall.

Had brunch yesterday with two girlfriends and it was a fabulous few hours. Service from Honor was first class and all the food and drinks were delicious - great coffee. A lovely spot to catch up and local. Cheers

Overall 3.5 Lovely spot with good ambience and great staff. We came for brunch on a Saturday and were able to get a seat easily. Unfortunately the products were pretty average. Coffees use industry beans for their milk beverages. The coffee seemed well made but the result was super milky/weak. The smoothie was nice but also for 9 bucks you'd hope so. The food was on the plus side pretty well sized and not crazy priced. Everything was roughly 20 or less which is low for the area. That being said it was pretty bland.

Busy Saturday morning. Only had coffee, service was solid, felt bad just getting coffee for over and hour with a friend there and no food. But NEVER felt like they were rushing to get us out, to free up the table. Was inside, and was noisy, but to be expected at a busy place. Food looked great. Would seek them out if/when I'm in the area again.
